A: The DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences. Click the button below for more information on the program:
Q: How long is a typical fellowship?
A: Fellowships may last up to 6 months during a service members last 180 days of service.
• Custom fellowships may be any length up to 6 months.
• Hire our Heroes Fellowships are typically 12 weeks, arranged in 3 scheduled cohorts each year.

A: We are looking for highly motivated and driven teammates from all military branches.
Q. When should I apply for DoD Skillbridge?
A: We recommend that you start working with your command as soon as possible! Most candidates start at the 12 month mark after receiving official approval to leave the military. This will allow for you to start your fellowship at the 6 months mark from transition and to prepare your resume for selection at a host company. LCDR Patrick Imhoff spent most of his years in the Navy flying the P-3C Orion. Patrick has finished his internship and accepted a position at TAG flying the Lear 60 and serving as the Executive Assistant to the CEO.
Senior Master Sergeant Tyler Allan recently joined our team Corporate Fellow (Jan 2021) through Hiring Our Heroes as he transitions out of the Air Force. Tyler spent his time in the Air Force conducting aircraft maintenance, more specifically propulsion mechanic on MC-130Es and stealth coatings on F-22s. Tyler has also managed aircraft maintenance on multiple aircraft platforms to include, C-17, F-22, MC-130J, CV-22 and MQ-9s. Additionally, Tyler spent a brief part of his career as a MC-130P Flight Engineer.
SSgt Bianka Stubblefield has served on Active Duty in the U.S Air Force for over 8 years. She has joined our team as a DoD SkillBridge fellow. She is transitioning from being a Military Training Leader (MTL) at Keesler AFB, MS to developing her skills as a Data Analyst at The Albers Group.
MSG Ingrid Ryan recently joined our HR Team through the Skillbridge program as she transitions out of the United States Army after 21 years of service. Ingrid has a strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, best practices and employment rules and regulations. She aims to achieve value-added service by encouraging employee engagement, learning, and promoting positive work culture and environment. Ingrid is a forward-thinking HR Professional offering knowledge, skills, and abilities to accomplish any task.
We are excited to be a part of your military transition. Landing a DoD Skillbridge fellowship takes a lot of planning and coordination. There are two basic parts.
